Daniel Avila was born and raised in Queens, NY. He recieved a B.A. in Fine Arts from The State University of New York at Albany, and has over 10 years experience in photographing performing arts, sports, editorial, and special events having freelanced for several publications including The Albany Times Union and Newsday. He is presently a Senior Photographer at the New York City department of Parks and Recreation where he provides the agency with photos for press releases, marketing and advertising, and property archival photos. His main duties include photographing special events, award ceremonies, concerts and other general citywide functions.
